Audiology Awareness Campaign

LTC (P) Nancy Vause, Ph.D

A new consumer booklet is under construction! MAA provided input for a page devoted to Preventing Hearing Loss! This booklet will be mailed to consumers (free of charge) upon request from the website or the toll free number!

AAC is finalizing the contracting agency to operate our toll free number. Additionally, the BOD interviewed two marketing proposals for the multimedia campaign. As donations and the check off program generate funding, we will continue to move forward.

Don’t forget: if you plan to offer free hearing testing during Noise Awareness Day or Better Speech and Hearing Month – let me know. AAC is teaming with the NY League of the Hard of Hearing. You may be eligible to receive free balloons and other give-aways for your patients.

The campaign continues to raise money for the toll free hotline. Military Audiologists have generously donated over $1000. As you write your check for MAA dues this year, you can opt to donate to AAC. Just include an extra $10, $25, $50, etc. All money donated to AAC is fully tax-deductible! Be generous to this effort for our patients and profession!

The AAC and its volunteers are always looking for a few good men and women. If you want to be part of this grassroots effort, please let us know! Thank you for all the support, ideas, assistance, and enthusiasm. Keep up the Great Work!

The Audiology Awareness Campaign is making record headway for consumers and audiologists! The website is getting over 5000 hits/month! These hits are not just at the intro page, but consumers are going into the website and exploring in depth areas (self hearing test, etc). Remember, the AAC website is the only one available that will access only practicing audiologists by zipcode. Don’t forget to vote for Kris English (AAC BOARD MEMBER) for the AAA member at large position! She proposes to bring AAC support to the AAA board of directors!!
