As of 22 Oct (1999) the deployment of DOHRS-HC equipment will be complete!! Most sites have had their equipment since August or September. However, the bad news is that only 11 Air Force sites have exported DOHRS-HC data to the DOHRS Data Repository and less than 60 individual users have DOHRSNet accounts (required to export data). Please encourage the sites that you support to complete the transition from HEARS to DOHRS-HC. Complete transition includes sending the last HEARS data to the HCDR, beginning testing with DOHRS-HC, getting a DOHRSNet account for all users that will export data or use the reporting capabilities, and export data to the DOHRS Data Repository. If they have difficulties (including needing training), they must report them to the help desk (TMSSC at DSN 240-4150).
You’ll need a DOHRSNet account to run the regional reports. That capability should be on line in December. Take the lead and get your account soon. More information regarding the reporting capability is coming soon via e-mail and on the DOHRS Web site.
We are receiving results of a short survey of DOHRS-HC users designed to identify their implementation problems. The overwhelming answer is lack of training. We are making every effort to provide face-to-face training opportunities. There will be a course at the Military Audiology Short Course that you can take to learn the basics of DOHRS-HC. We are also planning several regional training sessions to allow users to come to any of several locations for a day of hands on training.
If you have questions about DOHRS-HC please feel free to contact me.
