  6. AuD Proposals
    A Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued to 120 universities within the United States to develop and offer a distance-learning based Au.D. degree program to government audiologists. The RFP stipulated that the program must be affordable, readily accessible to government audiologists, and reasonable in its curricular requirements in light of the participant's existing clinical knowledge and skills.
  7. VA Hearing Aid Initiative
    A Memorandum Of Understanding has been signed between Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Dept of Veterans Affairs Denver Distribution Center (DDC) on 1 MAY 98, based on the terms of the MEDCOM-VA sharing agreement of Dec 97.
  8. MAA Fellow
    MAA elected Ms. Scherr for Fellow status for her life-long contributions to military audiology.
  9. Specialty Recognition
    The petitioning group consisting of NHCA, ASHA Special Interest Division #8, Military Audiology Association and Air Force Audiology Association continue to pursue Specialty Recognition in Occupational Audiology.
